| The SPI-CLEAT is a revolutionary cleat designed to facilitate the fastest hoisting of spinnakers on smaller class craft such as the 470 and Flying Dutchman. Exceptionally strong and ligth, this innovative cleat allows the yatchsman to quickly hoist his sail with one hand while navigating with the other, or while 90% of his body is leaning off his craft. |
Its principle is easy. The line passes through the cleat. The cleat bites and holds the line when up and releases when down. The yacthsman simply pulls up. releases and repeats as necessary when hoisting his sail. Since the line never leaves the cleat, it needs no adjusting.
